ishinomaki

The water was only 7 feet deep when it rushed through this neighborhood.

Got goods from Food for the Hungry and Samaritans PUrse today, then went to Ishinomaki city to hard-hit neighborhood about 1/3-mile from coast. cars piled up everywhere, mud, muck, piles of ruined stuff everywhere -- ocean came in at 7 feet high there. Still no water or utilities after 15 days.

We laid out clothes, blankets, baby food, diapers, drinks, food, toothbrushes, lights, batteries, etc and people took Almost everything -- even the leftover cardboard boxes to use as flooring on thieir wet muddy floors. we got to pray for several people, none of them Christian but very willing to have us pray for them. We let them know this is related to church and Christianity because long after we're gone we want the profile of the local church to be raised.

Incredible gas lines -- I counted 260 cars lined up at one station -- way over a mile long, and then each only gets maybe 5 gallons. We have special passes that give us priority for gas, but it still takes time.

Felt God's pleasure mightily today. He loves the hurting.

ALMOST found charging cords for my phone and camera today!

  2. Glad you can serve and show Christ's love to these needy people. "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13).

    In Him,
